Systemic Cafe on March 22nd

Following on from the success of the first Systemic Café in November 2010, our next gathering is about to happen! This is a new idea to create a space where FTAI  members, colleagues and friends can meet to socialise, share ideas, observe, or participate in a short discussion, have a drink & relax. It is free. It is an expression of our desire to come together in a more casual setting. This time we have a larger, more suitable space in the same venue:

THE  SCHOOLHOUSE

2-8 Northumberland Road,  Ballsbridge,  Dublin 4.

(10 mins walk from Grafton St. – locate on Google Maps)

Date:                         22nd March 2011

Time:                        7.00 – 9.00pm

Topic: Conversations on Pornography

This is a topic which can arouse feelings of anger, fear, excitement and shame – both in the therapy session – and in society in general.  We hope to explore the subject in a way that deepens our understanding of the issues, as well as looking at how our desire for intimacy can be understood with compassion and respect.

The panel of speakers who will open the conversation are: Dr. Ger Moane, Senior Lecturer, Psychology, UCD, who has written extensively about colonialism, pornography and sexual violence, and liberation psychology. Ger Murphy, Director of Institute of Creative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Psychotherapist, he specializes in Sexuality, particularly in studying the links between Tantra and Psychotherapy practice, & Trish Murphy, Systemic Family Therapist  who specialises in the area of Sexuality.

A  FREE  GLASS  OF  WINE,  BEER  OR  BALLYGOWAN  AWAITS YOU!

For those coming directly from work, The Schoolhouse has a fine menu offering “Gourmet Casual Bites” and much more (at your own expense!). 10% Discount on Food for those attending the Systemic Café. The discussion starts at 7pm.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) = 2 hours. CPD certificates will be issued by the Family Therapy Assoc. of Ireland (FTAI).

Free parking is available at rear of The Schoolhouse (limited) and generally, parking in the area is free from 7.30pm.  See you then!
